Hey Kitty,
Would your attitude change any if you had a baby or small defenseless child?

You seem very intelligent and pretty realistic about any animal's potential for aggresive behavior even with an ideal owner... but could any owner ever completely rule out the chance of an animal like a pit, akita, chow, etc... from lashing out and possibly killing a child.

I have two nephews in Oklahoma, both of which were seriously injured by the same Akita, on two seperate occasions... Sadly, after the secong attack, the dog was put to sleep but even the first instance wasn't enough to wake up my sister enough to be objective about the inherent nature of such an animal.

As for me... no more potentially dangerous pets.... Maybe a couple of midgets (sorry!..."little people") for breeding purposes.... but that's it!

Hey seek... I haven't bought any music in a long time but I think I will cast my vote (financially) for Casting Crowns and maybe Chris Mullins (spelling?).... I love his "How Great is Our God" except for that one referrence to the God Head.

I handle all media, graphics, etc... for our congregation and recently put together a video with images from "The Passion" to be played behind a vocalist (she was a professional for years) who sang a slightly tweaked version of "Because You Loved Me" VERY, VERY, Powerful! I'm a 40 year old, 235 pound 6'plus, ex-DCI/Narcotics officer and I had tears welling up.

What a contrast! I never had anything other than phlegm "well up" with the society's music!

To be a Nice Apostate or a Mean Apostate.....

..... that is the question.. how do you react - and is it a 'planned reaction', when confronted with jdubs in public?.

i have personally determined that i will not allow people whom i knew for 40 years in some cases to 'shun' me without a cost to the reputation of their religion in the eyes of those who see it.. if i come face to face with a witness who turns the other way or rudely brushes past [as if i am dead], i will point out to all in the area [carefull not to appear the raving lunatic] that this is the way jehovah's witnesses act toward one who has quietly left their faith.

i expect two things will begin to happen as a result.. 1- witnesses will become so paranoid of the possiblility of meeting me and being embarrassed in public, that they will alter their schedules to avoid the places i might be.

many of the jws in my old cong (about 40%) lived in a trailer court, which was in turn owned by a jw.

they seemed to enjoy living together in their little "dubville," surrounded by other jws.

even when i was still a jw, the thought of living there made me recoil.

After being raised as a witless, I luckily (OOPS!... I mean fortunately) didn't quite go through with the initition rites...
Put's me in a better position with the family too and if any dubs try to condemn me,
I can just quote brother Charlie...
